School Lunch

This year Cole is in 1st Grade, and has to have lunch at school. Well before school started I knew that none of my kids would never eat school lunch. So I made plans, got the nesscary items needed for home lunch, and made home lunch. I did tell him I would send money for school lunch in case there was EVER a day he wanted school lunch. To my surprise he kept coming home saying you should've seen what they had at school for lunch...pizza day came and he made plans to eat at school. Since then he has never looked back, and school lunch is the BEST!!! He now eats so many things, like shrimp...WHAT?!? He tried them at school, and loves them.


Today he came home from school, him and his friends were discussing lunch, Cole said, "Wasn't that gravy on the rice so good!" (His friend agreed). Wow...is all I can say. It is a miracle our child who never liked to eat anything unless I made it his way, loves to eat at school. He is our only one that eats pretty much anything we make now, and he is so willing to try new things.

Is it possible that this will have the same results for our other kids? I really can't imagine it, but then again I never saw this result coming from school lunch.

"I love you..."

Christmas is around the corner...YEAH!!! Last year Rob came up with this awesome way to count downt to Christmas. We have Christmas bags all over our house, and inside of each of the bags is a Christmas story and treat for the kids. Everyday the kids get to go find the bag with that day on it, then we read the story, and the best part is they have a little treat.

This year I decide to add one more thing to each bag, and that was that everyday I would tell each of them why I loved them. The first few days I couldn't tell if any of them really liked it. But then one day we had to do two bags because we had missed one, and the boys said, "mom, you have to tell us two reasons why you love us." Inside I was very pleased that they looked forward to knowing why I love them. To my surprise the next day Cutler realized that no one told me why they loved me, (and Aunt Paula since she happened to be here while we were doing.) So he said, "I will tell you why I love you, and Aunt Paula."

He went first catching Aunt Paula off gaurd he proceeded to tell her while he loved her. Now instead of just me telling each of them why I love them. Each of us goes around the room and tells each person why they love that person. Even little miss Kiley does. We have had reasons from making good food, to helping with homework, to playing the wii with them, and so much more. They spend time thinking and contemplating what they will say.

I do love them...and this is just one more reason why is that they are so excited to tell us why they love each other and us.

Exciting News!!!

Half way!!!

Half way done with this pregnancy...YEAH!!! This has been the most challenging of all four pregnancy, but I am glad to say that I am on the count down. There have been times throughout this pregnancy that getting to this point seemed quite impossible, but time continues to pass. We have already had a good amount of appointments and lab work done, and we have a lot more to go, but we are so grateful for the amazing Doctors and Nurses that are watching over us. As for the shots that I have to do on a daily bases they are going as good as to be expected. The first week was a nightmare for some crazy reason the needles weren't sharp or something, but we got that all work out so they are fine.
We are so happy to say that he is doing great. We have had the chance to watch him grow, and it is has been amazing to watch the changes that happen in a few short weeks. It has been a tender mercy to have so many chances to see him. I am completely falling in love with him, and with each ultra sound I find that I am more and more amazed at the miracle of life. We are also thrilled that it is for sure a BOY!!! We couldn't be more happy that both him and I are doing great.

Nothing is as constant as "change"

Time never stops, it never takes a break, it never waits...it just keeps on tickin'. Today I watched our 5 year old, Cutler run all the way to school. Most of the time I feel he is getting so big, but today I couldn't believe how little he really still is. On his back was his bookbag that went from his neck all the way past his bottom. I realized that in an instant he would be bigger than I, and his bag would be filled with college books. The thought came to me as President Monson said,

"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will--to your surprise--miss them profoundly."

Today I knew I would miss this time in my life. What a joy it is to raise our three children. I couldn't believe that today would pass, and one day I would forget what it felt like when he stood a block down the road and waved one more time while yelling, "Mom, I love you." or what joy it was when Kiley said goodbye to Rob...I believe she said it twice, "Bye Daddy, I love you." or the smile and hug Cole gave when I got up this morning. It all happened in one day, and it was a good day.
But I felt the frustrations of this stage of life when the kids got home and their socks and shoes, and bookbags were spread throughout the house. The laundry still is left unfinished, and the feeling of pregnancy sickness still creeps in and out all day long. Sometimes it is difficult to realize in the moment that this will pass, but so will the adventure of small children growing and constantly change.

The ancient Roman philosopher Horace admonished, “Whatever hour God has blessed you with, take it with grateful hand, nor postpone your joys from year to year, so that in whatever place you have been, you may say that you have lived happily.”

Pumkins

Fall is in the air, and I love it!!! (I am a little nervous winter is coming real soon though.) This year I have an itch for fall fun filled activities, and on Oct. 2 we headed off to a pumpkin patch. Really I usually wait until the last minute to get the pumpkins, but this time I was so excited to see them on our porch. We had so much fun. The kids ran the maze, and then each of them spent time looking for just the right size and look for their pumpkin. Cutler found his far off from us, and Cole it seemed that their might not be the perfect pumpkin, but he found it!!! Kiley was just happy to be outside, and running with the boys. We now have to carve them, all six of them...Rob felt like he needed two. So hopefully in a couple weeks we will be on the ball still, and excited for all the mess the carving brings.

Lagoon...for the third time this year!!!

Lagoon is such a hit at our house, the boys look forward to it every year, and thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Ingles who work a few long weeks in May at Lagoon so we can go. This year we didn't just go once, or even twice, but we even got to enjoy a third time. YEAH!!! I was a little concerned at how busy Lagoon would be going over fall break at school, but oh well we gave it a try any way. To our surprise their was no one there, o.k. their were people there but just not enough to have any waits to ride the rides. We loved it!!! The boys ride the dragon roller coaster at least a dozen times, and Kiley spent her time on dumbo. Luckily they are right next to each other so we enjoyed watching them from the sides.
Rob and I were a little nervous at how the kids would do in their first Haunted House, I can't say they loved it, but they didn't hate it either. I am not sure they are sure how to feel about it. Cutler was glad there were rules that the people had to follow and when someone got near he would just tell them, "you can't touch me." Kiley was scared and hid her head for the most part. They were thrilled when that was over and we got to enjoy the trick or treat trail for kids.

Rob's Adventure

Thursday was a big day for Rob, and me...because I woke up when he left at 3:45 am to go hiking. Now don't get me wrong I don't love the idea of him hiking alone, in snow, for over 5 miles each way, on a MOUNTAIN...but really I love the pictures!!! You are amazing, Rob!!!






It is amazing what nature has to offer, and what beautiful views we are surrounded by.

Cinderella!!!

Cinderella is a favorite in our home. For many years we have enjoyed Cars, Batman, Incredibles, and more...but it is time for the princesses to join us. Kiley loves her, absolutely loves her. Especially when the tears start streaming, she starts screaming for Cinderella. Needless to say we love it too. We love mostly that she loves something so much, that anytime she see her she is so excited!!! I even gave in to buying her Cinderella shoes, and she loves them. We have attempted to introduce the other princesses, but as for now she is content will loving Cinderella.

Family Pictures!!!

I can't believe how long it has been since we have had a family picture. We take tons of pictures of our kids, but all of us together is a little bit tricky since Rob is the photographer. Well, job well done Rob these turned out great. I am so excited tomorrow, after 4 years of having nothing hanging in our front room we will finally have beautiful pictures on the wall.
Kiley is 2, and is full of so much life and joy. We have been having so much fun watching her grow and learn. She is talking in full sentences, and has alot to say about everything. She is so sweet to have around, and while I lay on the couch unable to move from pregnancy sickness I can count on her laying right with me. I am a bit nervous as how much Kiley will love the baby. She loves her brothers, and she can keep up with them. She is finally starting to gain some weight. At her 2 year appointment she weighed only 21 pounds, so this summer we have spent feeding her all the carnation instant breakfast you can. Which she loves them, and they are full of so many good vitamins and proteins, but to my surprise she eats so many new things now. YEAH!!! We have found that she loves Cinderella, I believe we have watched it 3 times today. No worries she doesn't sit down through the whole thing, but when she comes in the room she likes having Cinderella on. I gave in the other day at the store when she saw Cinderella shoes she wanted them so badly, well, I couldn't resist he sweet little desire. The other day she woke up in bed next to us, and look at Rob, and then whispered, "That's my Dad." Though it has taken some time, she is becoming a Daddy's girl.
Cutler is 5 and is in kindergarten. Which we both love, though I asked him if I could come with him, and he said, "No." Bummer. At his 5 year old doctors appt. I couldn't stop laughing, because he is just so funny. The Dr. asked him if he played pretend, Cutler looked at him confused, so the Dr. explain, "Do you ever pretend you are superman, or batman?" Cutler said, "No." The Dr. looked at me, and of course I nodded my head yes, but what I wanted to say is you asked him the wrong question...it should have been, "Cutler are you ever Superman, Batman, or any other hero?" I can tell you the answer would've been, "Yes!" Because in his world he is a superhero, with these powers. Once after finding him at the top of a light post...and I am not joking about where I found him, and trying to explain how dangerous this was the answer I got was, "spiderman can do that, and I was fine." Later the Dr. asked him to pee in the cup, and he handed him this tiny cup. Cutler's had a surprise look on his face, and we headed to the bathroom were he set the cup down in the middle of the room, and said, "This is awesome." Inside I was laughing so hard, for him it was target practice, no worries I stopped this attempt and all was fine. He is a funny kid, and so much more. He is already planning how he can help with taking care of the baby. I can't wait for what life is in store for him.
Cole is 6 and is in 1st Grade. He is doing amazing in school his reading, spelling, math, and writing is going so good. He is so willing to do homework, and he works so hard. He loves being at school, and with his friends. To my surprise he loves school lunch, he is such a picky eater, well at home he eats what we make him, but if anyone else made the same thing he rarely wants to try it. So, I never expected that he would even consider school lunch. I have to say it makes the mornings go so easy not having to worry about it. He loves his teachers, and friends, and the girls love him. I have a couple parents who have told me that their daughters are crazy about him...oh dear, should I be worried? He is a great big brother, he is kind, considerate, and helpful. He worries for those around him, and he is willing to help when he is needed. He loves sports, and if time or money was never an issue he would play every single sport out there. He is so fun to watch him play, during the summer he played a little basketball. I was so proud of him, because he gets really nervous when he is unsure of what he is suppose to do, but so far when it comes to sports it doesn't really matter that anyone is watching, or that he doesn't exactly know how to play yet because he is so ready to learn. He watches the coaches so closely and he loves every minute of the game. He too is so excited that we are having another baby, in fact a month or so before getting pregnant with this baby he asked us, "can we have just one more?" He loves seeing that my tummy is getting bigger, because he understands what that means. We love this guy so much, and appreciate all he does around the home for us.

Our Newest Member

We are so excited to announce what many of you already know that we are expecting our 4th, that's right number 4!!! We can hardly imagine what a fourth might be like in our household, some say that after three it doesn't feel any different. I think that must mean our household is already crazy enough so who will notice the continued sleepless nights, the screaming, the getting in and out of the car nightmares, the many appointments to the doctors, and so on. Well, needless to say with all the confusion and mess that children bring we are looking forward to getting to know one more. We can hardly wait to find out what his personality might be like. Will he be more like Cole where by the age of 1 was so cautious of the world around him, or Cutler where life is just a big adventure and he is the super hero, and could we even imagine having another climber like Kiley, would it be possible that he will beat her record of climbing out of the crib by 15 months...who knows what this little guy will bring to us. Well, we just can't wait, and if you notice it is a boy!!! (or we are pretty sure.) Ultrasounds at 12 weeks can show the gender, but there is a chance of oops it was the cord, so we hopefully will be 100% sure by 20 weeks, either way we are very excited.

Cole says...

Cole: "Mom we are pretty great kids. huh?"

Mom: "Yes you are guys are, I am pretty lucky."

Cole: "Is that why you picked us?"

Mom: "Yep!!"

Cole: "And cause we can play baseball."

Mom: "That is definately a bonus."

Moments

There are moments in life we hope we never forget, and today was a whole bunch rolled into one day. They each did little things that I wish my brain could hold onto that moment. I loved they way Cutler gives thumbs up, his determination to learn a new skill and how he loves it what I am so proud of him. Cutler spent at least a full hour trying to ride a bike without training wheels, and I am sure that in a few days he will be a pro. At baseball he would look over and give thumbs up. I loved Cole trying to look humble but wanting to grin from ear to ear when he hit the baseball the farthest of any kid (I believe in T-ball anything that goes into outfield is a homerun). I loved that he couldn't wait to talk to me about it when he ran home. I loved that Kiley was so talkative today, and her new word was "why". hahahaha. I love this stage the way she laughs with her hands over her mouth, when she cries because someone is a "meany" in her terms, and I love the new words. I loved that she wanted to help me with the flowers. I love that tonight I barely wanted to put any of them to bed because it felt comfortable and peaceful to have them playing around me. But the thing I wish is that I could've had a picture for each of these things. I know I can take a picture of baseball, or planting flowers. But when they give me little hugs, or smiles, or thumbs up can I catch that moment and save it forever. I wish, or hope that the look in their eyes today I can hold on to forever.

We cry or laugh our choice...

Today has been a bit of a challenge...hahahaha. So we laughed. It began yesterday at 11:30 p.m. Kiley woke with Pajama challenges. They were bugging her so we changed them, and then went to put her back to bed which didn't happen. We tried everything, but she was awake. So, I layed in her room on the spare matress with lights off and she laid next to me, played in her closet, laid in her bed, and would once in awhile say, "Mommy". Well, we did this until about 3:30 a.m. when she finally fell into a deep sleep and didn't move until morning. I woke up at 7:30 exhausted from the night, but in good spirits and decided to go up to the gym. I left and would soon discover that I hit some metal in the road and now my tire is flat. So I called Rob which meant he now how to wake up Kiley, and take the kids to the neighbors because I have the carseats, and come and help me out. Just in time to discover he too had a flat tire...hahahaha. Yes, one may think someone did something to our tires, but no they were two completely different problems just happened at the same time. Rob fixed his so he could drive, and then came and helped me out, and we headed over to Big O...where we just laughed. It is surprising that much can go wrong by 9:00 in the morning. Throughout the rest of the day we had the good with the bad. A good baseball game, a bad night with the kids getting into everything, a good nap for Kiley, a bad day with not getting a lot of cleaning done, a good day with the kids' school, a good day with friends and neighbors...and so on.

Hahahaha...

April Fools Day was a big hit for my kids. Though I can say I forgot about it, and have never taught my kids anything about it, but that is why we send them to school to learn. Rob and I picked up Cutler from school, and he began telling us story after story, "Hey Mom, did you know that you have a spider in your hair...hahahaha I tricked you. Hey Mom, when I get home I am going to run out in the street...hahahaha I tricked you. Hey Mom, did you know I don't have any feet....hahahahaha I tricked you." Well, you can imagine our drive home. The boys laughing, and us getting a kick out of their cute sense of humor.

7. Had no good ideas for dinner so I made French Toast...awesome that still two of my kids weren't that excited for them. Good thing Cole loved it...and thank heavens I didn't try too hard.
8. Bathed Kiley...just so two minutes later she would be colored in a blue marker.

It is true...he is thirty.

Happy Birthday Dad!!! We can't believe it he is 30. Wow!!! The really crazy part is that I keep thinking that I am turning 30 on Sunday...hahahaha. Nope just 28, and my little brain thinks really, really are you sure because I have 3 kids, and I have been married for almost 7 years. But it is the truth, I am still in my twenties...not for long, but for now.
**ok...really quick something funny about us being married for almost 7 years. I have been telling everyone around me since the summer or before that, that we have been married for 7 years, and it is hard to write "almost" 7. In January I was at a girls night at and for the first time caught myself that I had claimed 7 years. Oh, well 7 just sounds good, and I guess it is ok if for basically this past year and next year I say 7. hahahaha**

Back to his birthday. Rob loves to cook so we got him just some fun cooking utinsels, or thingys. Let's see if I can remember...
A sifter, cutting boards, cheesecake pan, pie pan, pie pounder (takes the air out of the crust), zester, pasta maker.



On each of the presents I had a clue on the package that described the present...

1- If you sift through our life you will find that we are rich in blessings and joy. (obviously a sifter.)
2- You are the backboard of our family, nothing seems to cut you down. (cutting board)
3- It might be a cheesy saying, "I have my cake and get to eat it too." (cheesecake pan)
4- Pie is just good!!! Some slices of pie are better, and others may even the best. (pie pan)
5- You take my breath away. (any guess...the pie pounder (I am not even sure it that is what it is called, but it does take the air out of things.))
6- Everyone adds their own spice to life, and we sure love the zest you add to ours. (Zester)
7- We may have to use our noodle alot in this life, but the 5 of us sure can make a great meal. (pasta maker)

Well, that was fun. It was fun trying to see if he could guess his present. The cutting board, and of course the pie pounder thing he didn't get...but the rest he did. The rest of the day for him was homework...super fun. But he did make time to sneak away and go to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory...YUM!!! It was great. We enjoyed ourselves, and enjoyed the company of his parents, and our boys. Yes, that is right we left Kiley with a neighbor...hahahaha. After our filling dinner and dessert we went to the new movie "Coraline", and then bummer Cole got really sick. I thought it was from eating to much, but whatever it was we had to leave after about 30 mins into the show. Poor kid was sick the rest of the evening. One thing you learn as a parent is that things don't always go the way you intend, we didn't get to see the end of the show, but the day all in all was great!!! That is all we can hope for.

Cole...All about me!!

So today we are working on Cole's all about me poster. He is the special kid this week in Kindergarten...and he is looking forward to that. He gets to do a big poster of himself, I will go to his class and talk about him and bring treats, and then the rest of the week he gets to have show and tell everyday. So much fun!!! Now lets just hope that that means I don't forget. Plus I have to remember that both boys have Valentine Parties on different days. So here is a little about Cole...




Cole was born Dec. 20, 2002. He weighed 6lbs 10 oz, and was 20 inches long. He is the oldest of three kids. Besides birth he has been in the hospital once for dehydration when he was 9 months old. When he was 2 he was so scared of the garbage truck. When he was 4 he had to have his head stapled shut for running into the counter...ouch. He learned to ride a two wheel bike this last summer. He hasn't lost any teeth, which to him is a bummer. He can't wait until he is 8 to have those shoes with wheels on them.

Cole loves going on family trips such as camping, Timp. Cave, Snowbird, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, and Disneyland.

Some of my favorite things about Cole is his kindness and consideration for others, how excited he is to learn something new, his ability to be such a good big brother, how willing he is to help me out at home, how much he loves going to school, and how fun he is to be around.

Well, I know that it isn't a big word to learn, but it is so super cute. Kiley is a bundle of personality and her newest word is K. She mostly says no, no, and some more no's. If you ask her much of anything, "give mommy a kiss?" "do you want this, or that", her answer will be a definate "no". Sometimes it is a simple no, other times she shakes her little finger while saying no, no, no, and other times it is a top of the lungs no. But your answer is bound to be no. Sometimes her answer is followed up with "sit down.", and if she is really bothered by you then you will also get, "bye-bye". hehehehe. With her being 19 months it is funny to watch and listen too, and we often find ourselves asking her things to just here her say the answers we are certain she will give. But the other day she was playing in the water while I was doing her hair, and I said, "STOP IT!", and she said, (very sadly) "K". She sat for the rest of the time ver patiently. So these last few days more and more you can ask her to do something, and we just might get a "K".

Just Talking to....hmmm just anyone I guess

Well, today has been a good day. I have accomplished much throughout the house. Well, ok normally when I get in these moods to organize then I go a little obessive about it, but lately I have been trying a new approach, and well today my home is all in all cleaned, but if you stood in my hall closet it is wonderful...well at least to me...hehehehe. I love the feeling of something clean, in fact I love the smell too. It smells really, well really perfect. I even have a candle that I can burn that smells clean. So needless to say not every nook and crany is clean, but there is a little more done then there was yesterday, and I am going to call that good.I made it to the gym today!!! And that is a success right there, but not only did I make it but I enjoyed the class. Today was my second day going to this power toning class. YEAH!!! And I signed the kids up for daycare next week so I can go again. I have made a goal to go at least 3X a week, and so far I have made my goal. The amazing thing is that my back for over a week has no longer hurt when I sleep...YEAH!!!I am now making cupcakes for Cutler's pretend Birthday tomorrow at school.

Sledding...it was cold.

We made it outside to the snow...but boy did we pick a cold day to go play. It looked OK before we left the house, but by the time we were dressed and had everyone loaded up it was freezing!!! But what do you do, the kids are still so excited. So we went. The wind was icy cold, and I was sure one time down and the kids would bail, especially because we ended up on the bigger part of the hill...hahahaha. They were all in tears, and we had one broken sled after that run. Needless to say they were ready and willing to go down the other hill which in my opinion wasn't much smaller, and if they weighed anymore would run right into the little lake that said thin ice. We all went down several times, and they LOVED IT!!! (well, the boys that is, Kiley cried every time.) Of course, when we were done it was time for some hot chocolate, and Kiley's nap
