Two weeks ago I started taking my CNA course. It is required I take this class before I can apply for the RN program at SLCC (or to most schools for that matter).
I have to say these two weeks have been a much greater challenge than I expected. Trying to get ready, 4 kids ready, and out the door each day can be quite a challenge. Then physically 8 hours of school, my body thought it might not make it. Each night I would come home to dinner, 4 kids (feeling completely neglected by me), and then a few hours of homework. If I could get in bed before midnight it was a miracle.
I can say I was tired!!! Every single day felt like a huge mountain to climb, and each day I counted that I had survived another long day.
I did two days of clinicals, my first day was in working with patients in a phsyche ward and my second day was working long term care. I have to say for the most part I enjoyed myself. (But I felt extremely overworked by the end of the day. Every part of me was tired.)
Yesterday was my last day, and instead of celebrating...I found myself throwing up and running a fever. I stuck school out.
And today I have to say...WAHOO...I am finished!!! Yesterday I was too tired to say much of anything.
